15 APRIL 2026 (TORONTO, ON) – “Shapeshifter (Live),” the new single from 5th PROJEKT’s first live off-the-floor EP, “Live In London” arrives today in advance of the album’s release on May 13th, 2026 via their own independent label, Organik Rekords.
After opening a moody ceremony, ritually calling forth hidden stories and secrets, and then descending into the spiral of shadow work with their previous three singles, 5th PROJEKT shoegazes into the void of the feral feminine with the grungy and ethereal “Shapeshifter (Live).”
Drawing us in with an intense and entrancing drone bend (Sködt McNalty, guitar), the point of focus opens up with the pounding of earthy, head-nodding, tribal rhythms (David Pake, drums) and toothy, growling fuzz bass (Peter Broadley). Vocals enter as a smooth, confident chant (Tara Rice), that play with an ambient delay like a call and answer. A collective surge of energy summons a fuzzy, psychedelic shoegaze chrysalis, a sonic temple of deep transformation.
Appearing here for the first time, the previously unreleased ‘Shapeshifter (Live)’ is the fourth of five songs recorded live off-the-floor at The Sugar Shack in London for the Incorrect Thoughts live band series. ‘Shapeshifter (Live)’ brings the vision of the upcoming raw and immersive EP, Live In London, closer to full manifestation.

5th PROJEKT’s previous releases, The Wolf (2023) and The Labyrinth (2022), both received strong Canadian college radio support, with The Wolf debuting on the !earshot National Top 50 and climbing into the Top 25.
